Target Cluster Analysis

The objective of the Target Cluster Analysis component of the Piedmont Triad area’s Regional Vision Plan is to identify the primary business sectors that have the highest probability of sustained success for the future of the Triad regional economy. Market Street will identify the most realistic business targets for the 12-county region based on the following:

1. National economic trends;
2. Economic, demographic, and geographic assets;
3. Workforce skill-levels and capacity;
4. Infrastructure, support services, and other amenities;
5. Existing clusters, and gaps and inadequate linkages within them; and
6. Emerging, unrealized, and new opportunities in the Piedmont Triad regional economy.

The specific work elements of the analysis include an analysis of existing business concentrations and recommendation of key business targets.
